Shan’s back—and she’s back in trouble—in the third installment of this bestselling series! Wahida Clark amps up the riveting drama, steamy seduction and life-or-death stakes to a shattering new level in Payback Ain’t Enough.
Forever Johnson is serving a life sentence in prison—and in a wheelchair. Shan saw to that after Forever killed her brother and knocked her up. But his former lieutenant, Dark, is getting out in 48 hours and revenge is on his murderous mind. Meanwhile, Shan is trying to make a new life for herself with reformed hustler Calvin, a.k.a. Briggen, and her son, Lil’ Peanut. But when Forever turns up dead, his wife, Nyla, blames Shan and Briggen. Before long, Briggen’s in police custody, and it seems like everyone on the outside is aiming to do Shan in.
From Vegas’ glamorous world of luxury limos and 1000-watt bling to the lethal thug world of Detroit’s dirty streets, Shan tangles with steely-eyed men who know no mercy and fashion-plate women who don’t know the meaning of the word “no.” She’s playing a dangerous game, where the only rule is power—and she’ll have to use all her wits and wiles to stay one move ahead. Because the only way this game ends is sudden death!
