Lady Jasmine returns in a sizzling new tale that’s part thriller and part redemption tale wrapped up in one of bestselling author Victoria Christopher Murray’s finest novels yet!
The wife of Pastor Hosea Bush, leader of one of the most influential churches in New York City, isn’t your typical First Lady. She may play the “good girl” part, but she’s got a dark past of stripping and scheming, of lying and cheating. She’s done a good job so far of keeping those skeletons neatly tucked away in the closet. But now she’s about to pay for them—and dearly.
It’s Christmastime at the mall when Jasmine asks her friend Mae Frances to keep an eye on her daughter, Jacqueline. But when Mae Frances tells her the child's missing, Jasmine’s biggest nightmare is only just starting to unfold. Already terrified for her daughter, now a reporter begins to question Jasmine about her past, which only fuels the fire of fear that Jacqueline’s biological father may have a hand in the disappearance. And if she knows him like she thinks she does, she’ll have to do everything she can, including reverting back to some of her old ways, to get her daughter back. But Pastor Bush may not be so forgiving this time....

In a word this book was depressing. But I'm still a fan of V.C.M. I'm sure the next book will be better.

I'm a VCM fan, and have read many of her books, which I througly enjoyed. But this book was just too slow for me. It took me a couple of weeks to read this one. I can generally read a good book in about a day or two. In any event I finally finished. I hope her next book will be what I'm used to reading by her, page turners.

WHILE I AM A HUGE FAN AND HAVE READ ALL OF VCM'S BOOKS, THIS BOOK WAS A LITTLE SLOW. THE STORYLINE WAS DIFFERENT AND VERY GOOD BUT IT TOOK TO LONG TO GET THERE. HOWEVER, KEEP THE COMING - I WILL READ THEM.

This book is not your average VCM book; but it was awesome! It tugs at your heartstrings and makes you laugh, too. It is a very good book and touches on a subject that most writers avoid - child abductions. I think that this book was well written and applaud Ms. Murray for having the courage to write about it. I love her books and will continue to buy them!
Kudos to you, Ms. Murray!
