"'Lord, I hope you ain't got jokes. You didn't bring me
through all of that dirt I was doing for nothing. Whatever
you do, just spare my wife and kids. As for myself, come
what may.' Trae spoke in a whisper as he continued to gaze
up at the stars. He was a firm believer in karma. He had
sold and poured tons of poison into his own community. He
had numerous bodies under his belt, had [slept with] more
women than King Solomon himself and now here he was on top.
The drug game had allowed him to stash millions. [Things]
couldn't be better for him. But he couldn't help but
wonder, What did the universe have in store for him? The
thought continued to nag him. What's next? What's around
the corner?"
—from the book, Thug Lovin’, by Wahida Clark.
Tasha and Trae have come a long way since their days of drama on the gritty streets of New York. Now starting over in what seems on the surface to be a respectable life as the parents of three children in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood, the hood’s favorite couple are still together and going strong. But they’re about to learn that their past cannot be escaped as easily as they thought. Because really... how far can they run from trouble when they are trouble? Now as they run a nightclub, dealing with models, shady lawyers, big money and new kinds of temptations, seductions, and drugs, all they’ve built together lies in the balance. But can this infamous duo weather all these new storms and finally keep it together?

Yo, this book is the absolute bomb diggity. I love the characters, the theme and I couldn't put the book down. My boyfriend actually told me that I loved this book more than I loved him because I was paying more attention to the book, funny right??? Anyhow, you cannot go wrong with this one. I enjoy all of Wahida Clarks books, but this is one of my all time favorites.

I also have read all of the Thug series. My favorite is Every Thug Needs a Lady but I have been impatiently waiting for Thug book 5 since I finished Thug Lovin'. The way she writes about these couples makes you feel like you know them and can really feel what's going on. I do know that they have Thug book 5 available for preorder now on Amaon.com . The name of it is Justify My Thug and it drops March 22 2010. The description says it follows Tasha and Trae as they try to make their marriage work and Jaz is having problems of her own. I cant wait!!!!!
