Urban Lit queen Vickie M. Stringer quickly rose to bestselling author with her debut novel, Let That Be The Reason. Loosely based on her own life experiences and penned while serving time in prison, this riveting tale is not only a page-turning portrait of survival on the street, but a certifiable urban-lit classic. The story centers on Carmen, who, when turned out by her man, needs to find a way to fend for herself. Turning tricks leads her to become an established madam, and her cash-cow operation leads her into the seedy world of fencing stolen goods. Through it all, she’s got one thing on her mind—MONEY—and there isn’t any line or any person she won’t cross to get it. But what price is she willing she pay for happiness and love?

This was my first time reading one of her books. i heard about her on the Monique show when she told her story about being in prison. This was a very good book. i read it in 2 days. Even though the story line like this dealing wiht drugs seems to have a lot of profanity in the book, (which i do not like)and cannot finish the book. Vicki did not have a lot of cursing through out the book so you were able to grasp the reason she was telling her story and how fast her decisions got out of control.

For the ones who said they would not byt the second book you really need to its good and then buy the reason why. I loved all three books and the last one gives you a better understanding of how it all got stated and why.

This is a good at the end book. In hate the ending. Does she find it, is it gone? She did her thing but I think it could've been told better. I will not read the second book.
