Where is God in a pain-filled world? The answers in The Shack will astound—and maybe even transform—you.
The unthinkable befalls the Philips family—Missy, their youngest daughter, is abducted during the family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness.
Four years later, in the midst of what he calls The Great Sadness, Mack receives a note, apparently from God, inviting him back to the shack for a weekend. He decides to return to his darkest nightmare. Or so he thinks.
What should you do when you come to the door of a shack where God might be? Mack decides to bang loudly, but as he raises his fist, the door flies open and what Mack experiences changes his world forever.
But who will believe him? To be fair, who wouldn’t be skeptical when a man claims to have spent a weekend with God? In a shack in the wilderness, no less.
But, as Mack’s friend Willie says, “I can promise you that the conversations and events are recorded as truthfully as Mack can remember them, so please try to cut him a little slack…these are not easy things to talk about.”
One more thing. You’ll want everyone you know to read this book!

I would recommend this book to everyone who cares about our Spiritual Being, and what God is like. I believe in this book, and have bought more copies of this book for friends. This book was recommended to me, and I feel fortunate to have read it, and to have many of my beliefs supported in this book. I do believe this book was Spiritually inspired. I will always keep one copy for myself.

This is a story to make you think. Obviously, not true - but is it? My husband ordered a carton full and then came and took my copy as well. My new one is hidden. Who cares how the story came to be; that's not important. It's sad, yet uplifting and gives you hope. I recommended this to a person I saw looking at it in a book store and then had someone else come right behind me and do the same. The person made the purchase. It's well worth reading.

I actually just re-purchased this book, I had read it several years ago and shared it with friends. Unfortunately, I never got it back and it was recently suggested to my book club. I had no qualms about buying a second copy and rereading this book. The sibject matter might be tough for some, but the message is truly inspiring and the main character will grab your heart!

I loved this book. What if!? I sure hope so! I have shared this book with 6 friends, buying each their own copy and told them to pass it on when finished. I hope God is as described, everyone and everything, much more than I ever imagined. Light and Love. This small book restored my faith that there is more than us. This book made me feel love in my heart and want to pass it on to others. No matter what, we are loved, all the same.
