Spenser’s latest case should be a simple investigation for an FBI agent who suspects that his wife is up to no good. But soon after Spenser catches Dennis Doherty’s wife, Jordan, with another man, three people are dead. And now Spenser’s in a world of trouble.
With his sidekick Hawk and gun-for-hire Vinnie Morris watching his back, Spenser delves into a complicated and far-reaching operation: Jordan’s former lover, Perry Alderson, is the leader of a group that sponsors anti-American violence. Perry doesn’t like Spenser poking around his business, so he decides to get Spenser through his girlfriend Susan. But what Alderson doesn’t realize is that Spenser will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and keep Susan out of harm’s way.

If you've never read a Spenser novel this is not the one to start with, but it is RBP, so it's still a good read.

Once again Robert B. Parker gives us a Spencer novel that doesn't disappoint. An easy read with the characters we've grown to love.

I've read all of Parker's novels with the Jesse Stone Character and can't seem to get enough of them. Jessie Stone seems so real and down to earth as in each book he continues his struggles with his addiction (drinking). Fast acting plot makes you want to complete in one night. My only wish is that Jessie's conflict with his x-wife end either way. Recommend to those looking for a quick read.

Once again Robert Parker came through with another page turner. It was worth staying up half the night to read it.

I have been reading Robert Parker books for a long time. Unfortunately, this book did not meet his usual standard. There was no real plot; even the characters were not memorable
