The dog had destroyed the room. Pillows were chewed. The blanket was shredded. A corner of the mattress was missing. Toilet paper was everywhere.
Connie closed and locked the door behind us.
"Don’t anybody panic. It’s probably not as bad as it looks. Cheap mattress, cheap blanket, right? How much could a pillow cost?"
"Uh oh," Lula said. "I think he…shorted the television. This here’s like traveling with a metal band."
Boo was on the bed, tail wagging.
"But look at him," I said, "He’s so cute. And he looks sorry. Don’t you think he looks sorry?"
"I think he looks happy," Lula said. "I think he’s smiling…At least he didn’t eat the flowers. It’s nice to come back to fresh flowers in the room."
"They were sent by a serial killer! They’re death flowers," I shrieked.
"Well yeah, but they still look nice," Lula said.

What can you say? All her books are outstanding and this is right up there. Has anyone tried casting the characters for a movie? I can't think of anyone better than Sandra Bullock for Stephanie. Then Queen Latifah for Lula and the Rock for Ranger. Haven't come up with the perfect Morelli. For me its an added attraction for this wonderful series. I hope they go on forever.

Janet does it again!!!

I have started reading Janet's Plum series from number one. This book had a lot of action in it. I couldn't put it down. I do have to admit that I knew who the Carnation Killer was from Stephanie's first trip to Tri Bro. It was easy for me to figure out.
This book made me laugh so many times. I cannot wait to read ten, eleven, twelve and hopefully soon, thirteen. Keep them coming.

For the first time in a long time, I read a book that made me laugh out loud. This was my first Stephanie Plum novel and I had to go back and start from the beginning. The girl is something else.

Great series, I love all the characters and the chemistry between them. It's nice to read and laugh out loud, I've never done that with another mystery writer. My husband is hooked on these books.
