When I'm Gone

When tragedy strikes, we are often unprepared. Many of us have lost parents, friends or relatives and found ourselves without important banking information, records, keys, codes or phone numbers. Kathleen Fraser’s When I’m Gone: Practical Notes for Those You Leave Behind is here to change that.

Beautifully designed and illustrated, this book is part practical fill-in record book and part resource manual—intended to be left to your loved ones in case of illness, death or, on the lighter side, travel. This is a perfect place to leave key contact info, medical directives and living wills, as well as written instructions for using your computers and electronics. Buy this book for yourself, and leave it behind for someone you love.

When I'm Gone
May 07, 2012

Though not an easy subject to bring up, my mother has stated that she would like everything planned ahead of time when it's her time to go. After attending an Estate Planning Seminar at a University, I decided to check into this book. I gently gave it to my mother and I know she will be looking this over in the safety and comfort of her home. She has yet to make any comments about it, but I know it was appreciated. I recommend it for anyone who wants their estate planning and other personal arrangements stated in writing and personally planned out ahead of their time.

When I'm Gone Book
March 24, 2012

I bought 2 of these books. One for my husband to fill in and one for myself. We have just started filling them in. I feel that these will be a big help to family when one or both of us are gone. It should be a big help in things they may not have known where to find info, for banks, savings, Insurance stuff, credit cards, etc... I would and have told friends and family to buy this book to help them.

A gentle reminder for family or friends
March 02, 2010

I bought this book orginally for a family member who thought "only a few bills would need paying" after they were gone. The Will took covered everything. This book is a gentle way to show them that there are many details and areas that have to be finished, with an easy to use format. Throught this book they can indicate what they want done. And then you know what you need to find out through discussions to complete their wishes. I now have copies for my husband and myself, so we knbow what to plan for 'after we are gone'.

Good Material could be better
December 17, 2009

I read some other reviews complaing of the redundancy of the information. All you have to do is use the book as it best fits your own needs. The point is to use this space as a place your relatives can find the important information they need if/when you die. My father taught me the importance of this when he left all his information all together in a folder stored in his desk. Before he died he told me where to find it... This book is a good resource to help you see what information is most important so your loved ones don't have to stress over having to search everywhere. I would buy it for others as well. I recommend buying (and actually taking the time to use) this book to help get your act together.

Excellent Resource for Loved Ones
November 13, 2009

This is going to be the best resource for my husband and/or children when I'm going and gone. I work at a church and view many funerals and homegoing services. I can't tell you how messed up some of them are because everyone thinks they know what the deceased wanted but have no clue what to do. It's just better to let your family know exactly what to do and how you want it done. Worth having and worth the money.
