This story started of fairly well friends reuniting after years of estrangement. Then the author did something that left me confused by one of the so call surprise which didn't make any real sense in the story when revealed. I really wish authors would stop this surprise injection that is showing up in many novel by African American authors as of late. There are some novel I don't want to read about and would appreciate if authors RESPECT their reading audience ability to choose what they like to read about.

Not feeling this one

This book started off promising........friends getting together after the death of another friend after being apart for years and old feelings and drama coming to the surface......but it fell flat. This was NOT ERP's best work. The so-called twists were predictable and the "major" twist was surprising but not shocking.
