Humility at its best!
March 13, 2009

Maya Angelou has managed (as if she hasn't done it enough already) to bring herself off of this noble pedestal on which we've placed her and let us know that behind all the literary accolades she had humble beginnings. Not only humble beginnings but pain and hardships that have allowed her to become a stronger person. She shows many examples of how through her life she is still learning lessons and she has compiled the most important of these lessons into letters for her daughters all around the world.

Thouroughly Enjoyable!
January 13, 2009

I love all of Maya's books, but this one touched my heart as I am a mother of two wonderful daughters. I loved it so much, I bought it for both of them to read, and now my youngest daughter is a mother herself so I know it really touch her too.
