Want to know what’s in the heart and mind of the African-American male? S. James Guitard provides candid insights and uncompromising truths in this bestselling collection of short stories, essays and poetry. Such selections as “Time Bomb,” “I Won’t Bow Down” and “Watch Out for a Snake with a Knife” muse on the plight of the Black man in today’s society, while in “Dedicated To You,” “I Now Love-Love” and “You Can Get All the Shoes You Want,” men from all walks of life deliver truths about the choices—good and bad—they make in their dealings with women. And the beautiful “Father’s Day” celebrates Black men’s relationship with God. Like a fly on the wall in a roomful of men, you’ll experience real men’s innermost thoughts and feelings.

I really liked this book. It's wonderful to hear a man's point of view for once!! A black man's point view!! Very refreshing. I enjoyed the entire book. Especially I Lost It All. This short story crosses my mind often because it speaks the truth so very well. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to people of ALL colors. It will truly open your mind and your heart. Hi, there are no reviews of this book and I was hoping to get some feelings from anyone who has read it. If you have, please share your thoughts. Would a man enjoy reading it? I'm a single mom & wondered if it would be a good book for my 17 year old son to read. We live in a predominantly caucasian neighborhood and I want him to embrace & understand the strength, intelligence, & overall awesomeness of black men to instill a sense of pride in himself that I as a woman can only do so much to give him.
