A perfect blend of medical drama and spiritual insight, Dr. David Levy’s Gray Matter is a fascinating account of his decision to ask his patients if he could pray for them before surgery.
Some are thrilled, some skeptical, some hostile—and some are transformed. Each chapter focuses on a specific case, with the patient’s diagnosis, the procedure to be performed and the prayer request. Then, we look over Dr. Levy’s shoulder as he operates, and wait for the results with Dr. Levy, the patient and his or her family.
As we watch Dr. Levy arrive at his insightful conclusions about what the results imply about God, faith and the power of prayer—and that, no matter what the results are, God is good—we can’t help but be inspired.

This book is an easy read. Once I started it I could not put it down. If you do not believe in the power of prayer you will after reading this book. I throughly enjoyed this book and recommended it to many people. I reread parts of it and took notes. Great book for discussion groups!

This book is so inspirational. I have been buying them 3 at a time to give to friends and those who need encouragement or need to know about God's forgiveness and giving others forgiveness.

Not only is this a book about a neurosurgeon who prays for his patients, it is a book that honestly shares the struggles involved and the outcomes. Does prayer make a difference? After you read this book, you will know that it does -- and you, too, will be encouraged to pray for others IN THEIR PRESENCE. Don't miss this inspiring account! It will change your life. It did mine.
