What an awful book! I can't say it enough. This is just slow, and boring and I am sure mainly untrue.

The book is believable for the most part. There were a few things that I thought was over the top and hard to believe. I have felt for a long time the Oprah wasn't honest about everything she talked about. Everything and everybody "is her favorite" thing or person. "Everything" nor "Everybody" can't be your favorite. Maybe one of your favorites. Any how I'm glad Kitty had the nerves to put this in print. Oprah use to be one of my favorites but she comes across too phony. It seems the richer she became she became 'full' of herself. If the truth be told a lot of people don't care for her and if she wasn't wealthy they wouldn't be afraid to say so. I'm happy she's sucessful and I feel she can live her life as she chooses, I just hate that she so Phony!!! If the things her family said are true then you would have to think she's fake. She don't have to tell her businesss if she don't choose to, but if she do then she should at least tell the truth.
She has done a lot of wonderful things for many people. I agree with one of the other poster.............get the book for the library.

I've read all of Kitty Kelley's book and this one was her most boring book. I've never particularly like Oprah and don't watch her show. I was surprised by a lot of things in the book i.e., she gives her audience the cold shoulder while on commercial break, refuses to talk with them or acknowledge them. When the camera comes back on she is oh so friendly! When she first started her show she greeted each audience member as they left the studio audience. According to the book she asks her audiences for contributions to her various causes then donates all the money in her name. Ms. Kelley talks in great detail about how Oprah spends her money. It is my opinion that it's Oprah's money and she can do what she wants with it. Oprah has the right to support whatever cause she wants to support and spent whatever she wants to on that cause without feeling guilty. Oprah does come across as kind of paranoid. Having everyone that comes in contact with her sign a disclosure agreement saying they will not say anything about her. One of the things that really shocked me was the give-aways she does on her show - like giving each member of the studio audience a car. Pontiac gave them the cars, not Oprah. When she wants to give something away on her show she contacts the vendor and tells them to send 300 of the item to her free of charge for her to give to the audience.
I believe everything that Kitty Kelley writes in her books. She has backup of everything she says. She has never been successfully sued. This book was way too long. Get it from the library and save your money.

Im very picky with books.. if you bore me on the first 2 pages i put it down.. This one is not boring whatsoever.. This lady took 4 years to write this book. Everything is based on 98% fact since she did her research with allll the interviews oprah did.. Her family speaking.. and what not... good book
