Beverly Jenkins
African-American historical romance writer Beverly Jenkins has written several novels including, Deadly Sexy, Bring on the Blessings, and Jewel, among many others. She has received numerous awards for her works, including: the Detroit Free Press Book of the Year, Waldenbooks Best Sellers Award, and Career Achievement Awards from Romantic Times Magazine. Jenkins has also been featured in many national publications, including the Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, Dallas Morning News and Vibe Magazine. In addition, she speaks widely on both romance and 19th century African-American history. Jenkins is active in both her church and community and was named a winner of the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award in November 2001. She and her family live in southeastern Michigan.
